How our UK insurance comparison process works

Protection insurance can't be priced accurately by a form alone — health, occupation and lifestyle all change the number. So instead of a fake instant quote, we get you a real one from someone who's regulated to give advice.

  1. 1. You fill in three short steps

Cover type, a few basics about you, then where to send the quotes. No documents, no login, no credit check — and you can leave optional questions blank.

  2. 2. One adviser searches the whole market

Your enquiry goes to a single FCA-regulated broker. They compare leading UK insurers on premium, exclusions and claim definitions — not just the headline price.

  3. 3. A single callback, at your chosen time

Morning, afternoon or evening — you pick. They talk you through two or three genuinely suitable options and answer questions in plain English.

  4. 4. Paperwork handled, free of charge

Applications, underwriting and writing life policies into trust are done for you. The insurer pays the adviser, so the price is the same as going direct.

What we promise about your data

  • Your details go to one FCA-regulated broker — never a panel, never a data list.
  • We never sell your information to third-party marketers.
  • Marketing emails are opt-in only, and one click unsubscribes you.
  • Ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we will.

Who you actually deal with

We think you should know exactly who gets your details, who is regulated to advise you, and who pays whom — before you fill anything in.

Who is Best Insure, and who gives the advice?
Best Insure is a UK comparison and enquiry service. We are not the insurer and we do not give advice ourselves. Every enquiry is passed to one FCA-regulated protection broker who is authorised to advise on and arrange private medical, life, income protection and critical illness cover.
Which insurers can the broker access?
The broker researches leading UK protection insurers — including Aviva, Legal & General, Vitality, Royal London, AIG, Zurich, Bupa, AXA Health and The Exeter — rather than a single provider's own range. That means the recommendation is based on underwriting fit and claim definitions, not on which insurer happens to be on a panel.
How does the broker get paid?
You pay nothing. The insurer pays the broker a commission when a policy starts, and that commission is already built into the premium — so buying through an adviser costs the same as going direct to the insurer. The broker must disclose how they are remunerated before you apply.
What happens to my details?
Your enquiry goes to that one broker so they can prepare your quotes. We never sell your data to lead lists or third-party marketers, marketing email is opt-in only, and you can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time under UK GDPR.
What protection do I have if something goes wrong?
Because the advice is given by an FCA-regulated firm, you can check their permissions on the Financial Services Register, refer a complaint free of charge to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and claims on UK protection policies are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

What our customers say

Feedback from people who used the same three-step process.

Filled the form in on my phone waiting for the kettle. One call back, and my family cover was sorted for less than my Netflix and Spotify combined.

Hannah, LeedsLife insurance

I'm self-employed so income protection was overdue. The adviser explained deferred periods properly instead of just showing me the cheapest number.

Dev, ReadingIncome protection

No spam, no ten different companies ringing me. That alone made it better than the last comparison site I used.

Marie, GlasgowPrivate medical insurance

I'd been quoted online elsewhere and the price jumped at underwriting. Here the adviser flagged my asthma up front, so the number I was given was the number I paid.

Tom, BristolCritical illness cover
